EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team opens their season on Saturday, February 22 against the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds in Wisconsin.

The Vikings return to action after concluding the 2024 season with an overall record of 2-11 and 1-5 in conference play. Augie returns top scorers Madison Langewisch and Elena Bechard, with Langewisch tallying 35 goals and Bechard collecting 28. Colleen Chiavola and Rachel Wylie are also back for the Vikings with 21 caused turnovers apiece from last season. 

UW-Eau Claire enters the contest with a 1-0 record after a 13-10 victory over Centre on February 15. As a team, the Blugold notched 23 shots with three individuals scoring three apiece. Reegan Werner won seven draw controls and Alexandria Shea saved 11 shots in goal. UW-Eau Claire finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 12-5 and a 3-1 home record. Saturday will be the first time both teams meet.
