DUBUQUE, Iowa -- After seeing a pair of games called off due to weather, the Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team will begin its 2025 campaign on Sunday, February 23 with a road battle against the Clarke Pride.

Augustana enters the new season following a 4-10 mark in 2024. The Vikings bring back their top ground ball getter and caused turnover leader in Caiden McCann, who led the team with 21 caused turnovers and 56 ground balls a season ago. Charley Dore also is back for Augie after ranking third in each of those categories, while Wyatt Dosek returns after appearing in all 14 games a season ago. The team will also see Eddie Resendez back for his junior campaign after posting a 42 percent faceoff percentage last season. The team posted an above-.500 record at home a season ago, which included wins in three of the final four games played at Thorson-Lucken Field.

Clarke will also play in its first game this season after a 5-10 mark in 2024. The Pride began the season with wins in five of their first seven contests, but closed the year on a seven-game losing stream. The team was 3-5 on its home field last season, but dropped the final five after winning the first three. Matt Archer is back for his senior season after tying for the team lead in goals with 20 in 2024.

Sunday will be just the second meeting all-time between the two programs. The Vikings and Pride squared off last season in Rock Island, resulting in a 10-3 win for Augie. Tommy Wimmers picked up six ground balls and McCann caused two turnovers in the win.

Start time on Sunday is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
