BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Three Vikings have been recognized by the Collegiate Water Polo Association in this week's edition of the conference awards. Waiahuli Akau was named the league's Player of the Week, Lizzie Pelzman was awarded the Defensive Player of the Week honor, and Anais Jones was crowned the CWPA Rookie of the Week.

In two games over the weekend, Akau racked up two goals and an assist to lead the Vikings to a 1-1 record. She scored in each contest on Saturday, connecting on two of her four attempts at the net. Akau also added four drawn exclusions and was 1-1 in sprints.

Pelzman saved 12 shots and allowed just nine goals in the team's season-opener vs. McKendree. She also added a steal in her 32 minutes of action on Saturday.

Jones concluded her first weekend with the Vikings with two assists and a a goal on her lone shot across the two games. She also added a pair of steals.
