DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team takes a short trip across the river for a weekday clash against the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on Tuesday, February 11.
The Vikings enter the contest with a 7-3 record and return to action after two wins over the weekend against the Wittenberg Tigers and Rockford Regents. In their most recent matchup against Rockford, Augie secured a three-set sweep with set scores of 29-27, 25-17, and 25-16. As a team, Augie hit .266 percent, while holding Rockford to .120 percent. Sean Carlson led the team with 13 kills, while Colin Schaefer notched 30 assists and nine digs. Tom Lamb and Cole Clarke blocked three attempts apiece and Carlson had three service aces.
St. Ambrose owns a 7-6 record and returns to action after a 3-2 victory over Culver-Stockton on Saturday. As a team, the Bees hit .368 percent, while holding their opponent to .324 percent. Kam Dixon led the team with 14 kills, while Anthony Anderson notched 42 assists, and Ethan Karban obtained 21 digs. St. Ambrose holds a 2-3 home record with their last home matchup resulting in a 3-0 loss to Dordt on February 4.
Augie owns a 5-3 all-time series record over the Bees. The Vikings secured a 3-2 victory in the Carver Center last season. Zach Moreano secured 13 kills, while Schaefer notched 42 assists.
