NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Six members of the Augustana Vikings football team have been awarded CCIW All-Conference for the 2025 season, the league announced Tuesday.
Augustana had two players on First Team, including conference-leading tackler
Toby Splitt. The senior defensive back was atop the CCIW tackles with a total of 103, surpassing the athlete in second by 14. Splitt was also fourth in the conference in passes defended with six breakups and five interceptions.Â
Also on First Team was
Max Castle on the offensive line. Castle helped lead an offensive unit that ranked third in passing and fifth in rushing.Â
Jimmy Makuh earned Second Team offensive honors in his first year at Augustana. Makuh finished third in the conference in passing with 229 completions for 2525 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is also second in the league for total offense with 165 rushing yards, 2525 passing yards, 404 plays, 2690 total yards, and an average of 269.0. Makuh is the first quarterback since 2015 to earn All-Conference honors for the Vikings.Â
Sean Schlanser also notched Second Team after finishing the season with 61 receptions for 690 yards and five touchdowns. The senior is also in the top 15 in all-purpose for the conference with an additional 56 yards on kick returns for a total of 746 yards.
Tight end
Jake Miller clinched Second Team after scoring six touchdowns, with a season-high of three against Illinois Wesleyan. The senior totaled 258 yards on 23 receptions for a long of 33 yards.
On defense,
Darren Oregon was awarded Second Team recognition after ranking third in passes defended with 10 breakups and one interception. The senior finished three games with multiple breakups, and his one interception was returned for 17 yards against North Park.Â
This season marks the fifth straight season that the Vikings have boasted four or more All-CCIW selections. Additionally,
Levi Burke was named the recipient of the CCIW's RESPECT Award.
