Box Score DECATUR, Ill. – The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team came up short on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 3–1 to Millikin.
 
Millikin jumped ahead early with a penalty goal from Melis Barutcu in the fourth minute and again in the eighth off an assist from Addison Weed. The Vikings broke through in the 20th minute when 
Paige Bingen buried a low left strike inside the post off a setup from 
Skylar Swanson, cutting the deficit to 2–1.
 
In the second half, Augustana created several quality looks. Despite a strong defensive effort, Millikin added insurance in the 77th minute on a finish from Caty Schmidt assisted by Mia Brown, sealing the 3–1 final.
 
Augustana finished with seven total shots and five on goal, led by Bingen's lone score and Swanson's two attempts. 
Skylar Swanson notched the team's only assist, while Schinker posted 10 saves and turned away 17 total shot attempts.
 
The Vikings drop to 3–12–2 overall and 0–7 in CCIW play. They return to action Wednesday, Oct. 29 to take on Elmhurst.
