ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team hosts the Aurora Spartans and Greenville Panthers on Saturday, January 25 for two non-conference battles.

The Vikings return to action after splitting matchups against UW-Stevens Points and Benedictine on Monday. Augie knocked off UW-Stevens Point 3-1 in the opener before falling to the host school Benedictine in the finale. The Vikings remained receiving votes in the latest AVCA DIII poll despite the loss.

Augustana's first match will be against Greenville, who enters the contest with a 0-1 overall record after falling to the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy by a score of 3-0 on Thursday. The Panthers hit -.074 percent, while their opponent obtained .190 percent. Tyrone Ealy led the team with five points, while Hunter Paulson followed with four. Kevin McGhee Jr. notched 15 assists and six digs. This is the first season for Greenville since 2020, where they finished the season 1-15 and a 0-5 away record. 

Augie holds a 4-0 all-time series record over the Panthers. The Vikings secured a 3-0 sweep in their most recent matchup in 2020. 

Aurora opened their season on Thursday against Illinois Wesleyan and collected a 3-0 victory. The Spartans hit .356 percent while holding their opponent to .047 percent. Josh McLellan led with 12 kills, Logan Brouwer notched 24 assists, and Alex Nohof had 11 digs. Aurora finished the 2024 season with an 18-10 overall record and 7-5 on the road. 

Aurora holds a 3-2 all-time series record over Augie. The Spartans conquered their most recent matchup in 2020 by a score of 3-1. 

The Vikings' first match versus Greenville is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the matchup against Aurora is set for 6 p.m.
