CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team will remain on the road for its conference opener against the No. 18 North Park Vikings on Saturday, September 28.
The Vikings enter the contest with a 3-1-1 overall record and return to action after securing a 4-1 win against Central on September 18. The CCIW offensive player of the week Rayane Haidi secured the game's first goal before Gonzalo Alberola notched one of his own. Haidi expanded the advantage in the second half with two more tallies to secure his first career hat trick. Central got on the board, but the Vikings held on for the three-goal victory.
North Park sits at 6-0-3 this season and comes from a 3-1 victory over Kalamazoo on Wednesday. Three different players notched a goal, while Michal Dejworek collected two assists. Kalamazoo had just two shot attempts in the game. The team is currently on a three-game winning streak and has a 3-0-2 home record.
Augie holds a 24-19-2 all-time record over North Park, with their last meeting resulting in a 3-0 loss for Augustana last season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
