ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will be back at home on Wednesday, September 18 after a long road stand when they welcome in the Monmouth Fighting Scots to Thorson-Lucken Field.

Augie currently sits at 4-0-1 on the season and is riding a three-game winning streak after picking up victories over Coe, Lakeland, and Ripon last week. In their most recent game against Ripon on Sunday, the Vikings out-shot the Red Hawks 22-2 on their way to a 3-1 triumph. The Vikings led 1-0 at half, but Ripon quickly evened the score in the second after an own goal was credited to Augie. The 1-1 tie only lasted three minutes as the Vikings earned the go-ahead and game-winning tally on Carson Kekelik's second score in as many days. Nearly 10 minutes later, Allison Gibeau added on an unassisted goal to extend the advantage out to 3-1. The two-goal margin remained intact the rest of the way.

Monmouth enters Wednesday with a 2-2-2 overall record so far in 2024, recently playing a scoreless draw with Coe this past Saturday. The Fighting Scots are currently enjoying a three-game unbeaten streak that includes a pair of wins over Rockford and Eureka by a combined score of 14-1. Both of Monmouth's two wins this season have come on its home field, while they sport an 0-1-1 mark on the road. A total of seven players have notched at least one goal this season, with sophomore Danielle Beach leading the way with five. She tallied three goals and three assists in the team's win over Eureka.

Augustana is 11-0-1 all-time against Monmouth, with the lone tie coming last season. Ximena Osorio-Rodriguez and Liesl Whitener each scored in the 2-2 draw.

Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
