PELLA, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team remains on the road to face the Central Dutch on Wednesday, September 18. 

The Vikings enter the mid-week contest with a 2-1-1 overall record and return to action after securing a 3-2 win against Fontbonne on Saturday. Derek Dedume notched the first tally of the day on a pass from Gonzalo Alberola. The Griffins evened the score, but Toby Dottin put Augie back on top with an assist from Alex Sanchez Collado. 

Returning from the halftime break, Carlos Fernandez quickly extended the advantage to two on another assist by Alberloa before Fontbonne converted a penalty shot to make the score 3-2. The score remained the same through the end as Augie held on for the win.

The Dutch sit at 2-2-1 so far this season and come from a 1-0 loss against Dordt on Saturday. Teddy Apostolopoulos led Central with a total of five shots with three being on target, while Morgan Finkenbinder had two saves in his 90 minutes of play. 

The Dutch hold a 9-4 all-time series record over Augie, with their last meeting resulting in a 2-0 loss for the Vikings last season. 

Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
