NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team was defeated on the road Sunday afternoon, falling to the No. 27 ranked North Central Cardinals by a score of 7-2.

All three doubles matches went to the Cardinals to give the home team an early lead. North Central clinched the match with wins in the first two singles matches to finish, but Arthur Hermange tallied a point for the Vikings next with a win over the No. 2 ranked player in the region in straight sets. Hermange, currently ranked No. 14 in the central region, defeated No. 2 Ramon Vilarroig by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Gabriel Luna earned the other triumph for Augustana, defeating his opponent at No. 3 by a score of 4-6, 6-2, 10-4. 

With the loss, Augie drops to 12-6 on the year and 1-2 in the CCIW. The team will return home to host Millikin on Wednesday.
