ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team earned a conference victory at home on Wednesday, defeating the Millikin Big Blue by a score of 8-1.

Augie began the match with a 3-0 advantage due wins by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles. The two teams split the doubles matches, with the Vikings earning a win at No. 2 from Saman Rezaeyan and Nicolas Navarro by a score of 8-4.

All four singles matches went in favor of Augustana. Gustavo Fontenelle led the charge with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while Arthur Hermange continued his momentum at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph. Gabriel Luna and Timothee Philip were victorious at No. 2 and No. 3 to complete the 8-1 team win.

With the win, Augie improves to 13-6 on the season and 2-2 in the CCIW. The team will be back in action on Saturday vs. Illinois Wesleyan.
