ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team picked up a home victory over the Loras Duhawks on Saturday, winning by a score of 6-3.
Augie faced an early deficit after Loras secured two of the three doubles contests.
Caitlyn Hanulikova and
Hannah Colbert earned the lone point for the Vikings in doubles, winning at the No. 1 position by a score of 8-3.
In singles, the Vikings bounced back with five wins, including Hanulikova's 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. With the win, she earned her 100th career victory at Augustana, becoming just the 32nd player in program history to accomplish that feat. Additionally, she is the first to do so since Annie Timm in 2021.
Elsewhere in singles,
Natasha Gauerke at No. 4 won swiftly by a final of 6-0, 6-1, while
Hattie Timerman also made quick work of her opponent at No. 5 with a 6-2, 6-1 final score.
Maddy Harned earned a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at No. 6, while Colbert won in three sets at No. 2.
With the win, Augustana improves to 8-11 on the season. The team will be back in action on April 12 to face Central for Senior Day.
