NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team will visit the North Central Cardinals on Tuesday, April 23 for their final road game of the regular season.

The Vikings enter the matchup with a 4-8 overall record and 1-2 mark in the CCIW following an 11-5 victory over Carroll this past Saturday. Brady Holtz notched the first two scores of the game within 21 seconds of one another, each coming off assists of Jack Connolly and Jake Moore. Carroll answered with a tally to cut the deficit in half around the seven-minute mark, but the Vikings added two more before the end of the frame.

Less than a minute into the second, Moore earned a goal on a pass from Carson Ghys to move the Augie margin out to four. The Pioneers snatched their second point of the contest three minutes later, but the final two scores of the half belonged to the Vikings. Ghys and Holtz tallied goals within the first five minutes of the second half and held the Pioneers scoreless for nearly the first 10 minutes before the visitors got their first and only goal of the quarter. The two teams played to a 2-2 fourth period, with Holtz and Elijah Graesser accounting for the final two points for Augustana.

North Central currently sits with a 10-2 overall record and 2-1 mark in conference play. North Central is winners of its last two outings, including a 16-12 win at Carthage on Saturday. The Cardinals bounced back from a 7-4 deficit in the first half, using a 7-1 final frame to pull ahead of the Firebirds. Joey D'Cunha led the team with four goals in the win. North Central is 6-1 on the road this season, with the lone defeat coming back on March 30 against Calvin. Overall, the team has won three of its last four outings.

Tuesday will be the seventh meeting all-time between the two programs, with Augustana holding a 4-2 advantage in the series. The Cardinals won last year's meeting in Rock Island by a score of 15-4.
