MOLINE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings baseball team returns home on Saturday, April 20 for a conference doubleheader against the North Central Cardinals. The two teams will then head to Naperville on Sunday to wrap up their three-game set.
Augie owns a 16-12 overall record and 3-7 in conference play after dropping both games to Illinois Wesleyan last Saturday. In their most recent game against Illinois Wesleyan, Augustana fell by a score of 6-0. The Vikings totaled four hits led by Dymitri Kanellakis with two, while Cole Green and Colton Davis obtained one. Â
North Central sits at 10-17 on the season and 4-5 in CCIW, returning to action after collecting a 13-4 win against Carroll on Wednesday. The Cardinals totaled 12 hits, led by Luke Lehnen with four and Dave Fitzpatrick with six runs batted in. North Central owns a 2-6 away record this season, with their last road matchup being the win against Carroll.Â
The Vikings hold a 92-90 all-time record over the Cardinals, with their last meeting resulting in a 7-4 victory for Augie in last year's CCIW Tournament. Alex Simon and Alec McGinnis led the Vikings with three hits apiece.Â
The first game Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday's contest will begin at 2 p.m.
