DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team will take on the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on Thursday, April 18 for its final non-conference showdown of the season.

Augustana enters the cross-river battle with a 3-7 overall record, recently falling on the road to Elmhurst. The Bluejays jumped out to an early lead with three goals in the opening five minutes on their way to a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes of action. The Augie defense slowed Elmhurst down in the second, holding them to just four scores, but the Vikings were unable to find the back of the net as they trailed 13-0 at half. Jake Moore notched the lone goal for the Vikings 10 minutes into the third quarter on a pass from Jack Connolly before a scoreless fourth period both ways closed out the game. Gus Magnusson stopped 12 saves in net for Augie.

St. Ambrose currently sits with a 7-6 overall record and is looking to snap a two-game losing skid. The Bees fell in their most recent outing this past Sunday at Ottawa (Kan.) by a score of 17-3 and will return to play a home game for the first time in nearly two weeks, where they own a 3-2 record this season. The Bees fell in their last contest on their home field back on April 6 to No. 4 ranked William Penn by a score of 16-7. The team is led this season by a pair of 20-goal scorers, including Zach Priami who leads the squad with 28 this year.

Thursday's matchup will be the first-ever encounter between the two programs. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
