Women’s lacrosse hosts Carroll for final home game of the season

ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team hosts the Carroll Pioneers on Wednesday, April 17 for the final home game of the season.

The Vikings sit at 2-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play after a 27-3 loss against Carthage on Saturday. Carthage out-scored the Vikings 16-1 in the first half, with the lone goal for Augie coming from Narita Lambert. In the third period, Ariadna Escobar collected her first career goal before Madison Langewisch notched the third goal for the Vikings from Lambert later in the frame. Carthage tallied five more in the final 15 minutes of play to bring the final score to 27-3.

Carroll owns a 10-3 record on the season and is 0-2 in the CCIW, returning to action after falling 11-9 to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. As a team, the Pioneers made nine of their 27 attempts, with three coming from Rebecca Hallman. Samantha Hurd caused four turnovers and Grace Tumilty won six draw controls. Carroll holds a 7-1 away record this season, with their last matchup being the loss to Illinois Wesleyan. The Pioneers hold a 4-3 all-time record over Augie, with the Vikings falling 17-3 in their most recent outing.
