ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse was defeated on the road on Saturday, falling to the Elmhurst Bluejays by a score of 18-1.

The Bluejays jumped out to an early lead with three goals in the opening five minutes on their way to a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes of action. The Augie defense slowed Elmhurst down in the second, holding them to just four scores, but the Vikings were unable to find the back of the net as they trailed 13-0 at half.

Jake Moore notched the lone goal for the Vikings 10 minutes into the third quarter on a pass from Jack Connolly before a scoreless fourth period both ways closed out the game. 

Gus Magnusson stopped 12 saves in net for Augie.

The Vikings will be back in action Thursday at St. Ambrose.
