BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings dropped both games to the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Wednesday by scores of 4-3 and 6-0.
In game one, the Vikings were first on the board in the top of the first after a two-RBI double from Alec McGinnis to grab an early 2-0 lead. The Titans evened the game in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs, but a homerun from Alex Simon put Augie back in front in the top of the fifth. Illinois Wesleyan tallied two in the seventh to steal the first game 4-3.
Augie fell in game two by a score of 6-0. Illinois Wesleyan got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with three scores and tallied two more in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Dymitri Kanellakis had four hits across the two games.
With the losses, Augie moves to 16-12 on the season and 3-7 in conference play. The Vikings will return home Wednesday, April 17 for a non-conference game against Rockford.
