ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will face the Concordia (Wis.) Falcons on Saturday, March 9 at Thorson-Lucken Field.

The Vikings sit at 1-2 on the season and return to action after a 17-10 loss against the Beloit Buccaneers on Thursday. Beloit started the game with five goals in the first period before Kyla Painter scored to get Augie on the board to create a 6-1 score after the first 15 minutes. Anna Erickson began a 2-0 spurt for the Vikings to begin the second, followed by a goal from Elena Bechard to cut the deficit in half. Beloit stopped the momentum briefly with a goal, but another score from Bechard sparked a 3-0 run for Augie. The Buccaneers answered a late goal from Painter to bring an 8-6 lead into the halftime break.

Returning from the break, Beloit scored four times before Bechard earned her third goal of the day on a pass from Narita Lambert. The Buccaneers scored two additional times to head into the last 15 minutes of play with a score of 14-7. Beloit notched the first three points of the fourth period, but Lambert halted the streak with her first goal of the season. Madison Langewisch converted a woman-up opportunity with 23 seconds remaining to account for the final score of the game.

Concordia owns a 0-2 record on the season and enters the contest after falling 22-1 to No. 2 SCAD on Tuesday. As a team, the Falcons scored one out of their 12 attempts, which was from Katelyn Cardinale. The Falcons have a 0-1 away record this season, with their last matchup being the loss against SCAD. Augie holds a 10-1 all-time record over Concordia, with their last meeting on March 26, 2016, a 14-2 victory for the Vikings.
