Box Score PLEASANT PLAINS, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings baseball team picked up their second win of their three-day trip with a 5-4 victory against the St. Norbert Green Knights on Saturday.
The Green Knights were first to score in the bottom of the second, but Cole Green came in to even the score in the top of the third on an Alex Simon RBI single. The Vikings added another run to the board in the next inning following three straight hits with two outs. Colton Davis began the rally with a single, followed by a Michael Aragon double. Daniel Mosele brought Davis in with a single to make it 2-1 in favor of Augie.
Two innings later, Augie added three more to its lead. Consecutive hit batters put two runners on before Green singled to make the bases loaded. Simon found himself four balls to advance everyone up a base and Dymitri Kanellakis followed with a two-out single to bring in Mosele and Green. St. Norbert answered with three runs to make it a one-run game, but the Vikings pitched three scoreless innings to close the game and seal the 5-4 win.Â
Davis led with three hits and tallied two runs scored, while Simon also added two hits. Brian Fischer earned the win on the mound and Cameron Miller notched the save in relief.
With the win, the Vikings move to 3-1 on the season and will return to action tomorrow to battle against the Simpson Storm at 12 p.m.
