DECATUR, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will kick off postseason play on Saturday, November 2 with a road showdown versus the Millikin Big Blue.

Augie enters as the No. 6 seed in the tournament after ending the regular season with a 3-4-1 conference record. The team officially clinched a spot in the postseason with a 3-0 home win over Elmhurst on Wednesday. It was a busy opening half as the two teams combined for 20 shots through 45 minutes of action. Nearly 28 minutes went by without a score until Liesl Whitener sent one in at 27:41 off a double assist from Paige Bingen and Caelan Cole to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Almost 15 minutes later, Whitener struck again right before the half and put in another tally to make it a 2-0 advantage for Augustana entering the halftime break.

The pace slowed down a little in the second as the Augie defense stepped up and allowed just one Elmhurst shot in the final 45 minutes. The Vikings added onto to their lead in the 73rd minute as Abby DeGustino notched her second score of the season on assists from Whitener and Mary Baker. Augustana did not allow a shot attempt by the Bluejays through the final 38 minutes of action. As a team, the Vikings held a 20-8 advantage in the shot category, led by seven from Whitener. Sara Schinker earned the shutout in net with four saves.

Millikin earned the No. 3 seed in the CCIW Tournament following a 5-3 showing in league action during the regular season. The Big Blue have won four of their last five outings, including a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday. After the Titans scored the opening goal 19 minutes in, Millikin drew even in the 37th minute before notching the game winner 30 minutes into the second half. Adrianna Gudaitis collected both a goal and in assist in the win, including the go-ahead strike. She is tied for the team lead in goals this season with six. Millikin is 6-2-1 on its home field this season, with its last coming on October 23, a 1-0 win over North Park.

Augie is 25-3-2 all-time vs. Millikin, but has dropped the last two meetings vs. the Big Blue. Millikin was victorious in Rock Island on October 26 by a score of 4-0. The two teams also met last season in the opening round of the CCIW Tournament, resulting in a 1-0 double overtime triumph for the Big Blue.

Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
