CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team was defeated on the road on Saturday, falling to the North Park Vikings by a score of 5-2.
North Park won two of three doubles matches to begin the contest to bring a 1-0 lead into singles.
Hannah Colbert and
Colleen Larry notched the lone victory for Augie at the No. 1 spot by a score of 6-3. Augustana saw a pair of wins in singles, including a three-set victory by
Hannah Colbert at the No. 1 position. Colbert bounced back from a set one loss with a decisive 6-1 showing in the second. She wrapped up the match with an 11-9 tiebreaker win.
Natasha Gauerke secured the other triumph for the Vikings at the No. 4 slot, outlasting her opponent 8-6 in the first before a 6-3 victory in the second. North Park secured the other four matches to complete the 5-2 decision.
With the loss, Augie falls to 3-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The team will be back in action next Saturday vs. Carroll.
