ELMHURST, Ill.  -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team earned a draw against the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday with a score of 1-1.

The Vikings had a strong showing of defense in the first half, fending off Elmhurst's eight shots to keep the Bluejays off the scoreboard. Augie did not attempt a shot of their own as both teams remained after 45 minutes of action. 

Returning to the field, Toby Dottin secured the lone goal for Augie five minutes into the second half to take the 1-0 advantage before Elmhurst evened the score seven minutes later to make it 1-1. The Bluejays out-shot the Vikings 17-4, with two of the shots from Augie being on goal.

Dottin led the team with two shots, while Patrick Mayer and Aidan Reed collected one. Benjamin Samuelson secured six saves in his 90 minutes in goal. 

Augie concludes the season with an overall record of 5-7-2, its best winning percentage in a season since 2019.
