ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will play its final home game of the season on Wednesday when they welcome the Elmhurst Bluejays to Thorson-Lucken Field.

Augie currently sits at 8-5-4 on the season and 2-4-1 in CCIW action. Entering Wednesday, the Vikings sit in sixth place in conference and can clinch a postseason tournament spot with a win or tie against the Bluejays. In its most recent outing, Augustana fell 4-0 to Millikin this past Saturday. Liesl Whitener and Samira Khobdeh each led Augie with four shots apiece.

Elmhurst enters in a tie for third place in the CCIW with a 4-3 conference record and a 9-7-2 mark overall. The Bluejays have won four of their last five outings, including a 1-0 victory over Carthage last time out. Three of their four wins during that span have come by a score of 1-0. Elmhurst sports a 3-4-1 record on the road this season, with its last contest away from home being the victory in Kenosha over the Firebirds. The team is led by Lauren Nevins with 11 goals on the year.

Augustana is 20-6-1 all-time against Elmhurst and has won the last six meetings and nine of 10 overall. The Vikings saw a goal in the 89th minute by Paige Bingen last season to steal a 1-0 victory over the Bluejays on the road.
