ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will begin a stretch of four of its next five games at home when they welcome in the Illinois Wesleyan Titans to Thorson-Lucken Field on Wednesday, October 16.

Augie currently sits at 7-4-2 on the season, recently coming off a 2-0 loss at Wheaton on Saturday. The Thunder got on the board early in the contest, notching a score in the ninth minute of action for a quick 1-0 lead. The one-goal differential remained intact through halftime, with Wheaton holding an 8-3 advantage in shots after 45 minutes of action. Carson Kekelik collected the first attempt at the net for either team in the eighth minute, while Liesl Whitener and Chassity Colburn each added a shot later on.

In the second, the Vikings had a penalty kick opportunity just seconds into the second half, but could not connect as the shot was saved by the Wheaton keeper. The home team contributed an insurance goal shortly after, eventually holding on for the 2-0 win. The Thunder again held a large margin in shots, posting an 11-3 disparity in the second half alone. Jordyn Swanson and Caelan Cole each tallied one attempt in the frame.

Illinois Wesleyan enters Wednesday with a 3-8-1 overall record and 1-2 mark in the CCIW. The Titans have lost three of their last four, including a 2-0 defeat to North Park this past weekend. Illinois Wesleyan's lone conference win so far this year came in a 3-0 victory over Wheaton at home on October 9. The team is led this season in goals by Liza Wiley, who has scored nine of the team's 21 total tallies. Illinois Wesleyan has seen some success on the road this year, where they have collected of its three wins.

Wednesday will be the 38th all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Titans leading the series 19-10-8. Augie snapped a five-game losing streak to Illinois Wesleyan last season with a 1-0 victory at home.

Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
