ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday, falling to the visiting Illinois Wesleyan Titans by a score of 77-61.

From there, Illinois Wesleyan slowly grabbed a lead and pulled away, stretching it out to as many as 10 after an 18-8 run over the course of seven minutes. The Vikings and Titans traded baskets down the stretch of the first half as the visitors brought a 40-30 lead into the halftime break. Up 46-39, the Titans halted the Augie momentum with another big scoring run, this time out-scoring the Vikings 20-9 over a span of six minutes for a new largest lead of the contest. Augustana successfully got it under 10 points twice more in the final six minutes, but three straight made buckets from Illinois Wesleyan with under four minutes to go all but sealed the win.
