ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will host the Coe Kohawks on Wednesday, September 6 for their first game at Thorson-Lucken Field this season. 

The Vikings enter the contest with a 1-1 record after splitting a pair of road matches over the weekend. Augie defeated Principia on Friday, seeing a late goal from Liesl Whitener prove to be the difference maker as the Vikings held on over the Panthers 1-0. On Sunday, Augustana fell to Illinois Tech in Chicago by a score of 4-1. The Vikings mustered just one shot, a goal early in the second half from Whitener. Janey Castoe saved 10 shots in the defeat.

Coe enters Wednesday also sporting a 1-1 record. The Kohawks were on both sides of a pair of 1-0 games at home, first falling to Grinnell by that score before shutting out Concordia-Chicago. Coe has already matched their win total from a season ago, finishing the 2022 season with a 1-15-1 record. 

Augustana holds a 16-2-3 advantage all-time over Coe, winning the most recent matchup in 2021 by a score of 1-0 at Thorson-Lucken Field. The teams have met three times in the last five years, resulting in a win for each team as well as one draw.
