ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer will return to Thorson-Lucken Field on Wednesday, September 27 to host the Illinois College Lady Blues in a non-conference matchup.

Augie currently sits a 7-1-1 on the season and is coming off a win in their CCIW opener on Saturday, a 2-0 defeat of North Park. Liesl Whitener notched both of the goals for the Vikings in the win, set up each time on passes from Abby DeGustino. Whitener's game-winning goal was her fifth of the season and she now ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division III in that category. Reigning CCIW Defensive Player of the Week, Janey Castoe, notched her fourth shutout win of the season after allowing zero goals and saving two shots. Augustana is unbeaten since its loss at Illinois Tech on September 3, going 6-0-1 over that span. 

Illinois College enters Wednesday with a 3-4-1 overall record, recently earning a 1-1 draw with Ripon last time out to move their unbeaten streak to two games. In all three of the Lady Blues' wins this season, the team has score four or more goals. Illinois College has two common opponents with Augustana this season, defeating Principia by a score of 4-1, but falling to Central by a final of 4-0.

Augustana has won both of its meetings with Illinois College all-time, including last year's 7-1 road victory. Whitener led the Vikings with three goals in the wins, also seeing one from Lexi Dominguez and DeGustino.
