MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will face a pair of non-conference foes this weekend, beginning with a road battle with the Monmouth Fighting Scots on Saturday, September 16. Augie will then return home for Senior Day against the Lawrence Vikings on Sunday.

The Vikings currently sit at 5-1 on the season, becoming the first team in the CCIW to reach the five-win mark following a 2-0 victory over Central on Wednesday. Liesl Whitener connected on a pair of goals, one in each half, while Kierstyn Rogers and Janey Castoe combined for the team's fifth shutout win of the season. Earlier in the week, Augie was ranked No. 8 in the first edition of the United Soccer Coaches Region VIII rankings. Whitener leads the entire CCIW in goals this season with eight.

Monmouth enters Saturday with a 2-3-1 overall record, recently falling to Dubuque at home by a score of 6-2. The Fighting Scots have lost two straight contests after picking up a shutout victory over Rockford back on September 8.

The Vikings are 11-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots, including last year's 4-1 victory in Rock Island. Whitener notched two scores, while Lexi Dominguez added another. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.

On Sunday, Augie will return home to face Lawrence for Senior Day. The Vikings from Appleton, Wis. are 1-3-2 on the season and are winless in their last four outings, which includes two defeats and two ties. In their most recent game, Lawrence fell to St. Norbert by a score of 3-0. The team's lone victory this season came against Lakeland, a 2-0 win for the Vikings.

Augustana leads the all-time series 4-1 over Lawrence, but fell in last season's meeting on the road by a 1-0 final. Start time on Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m.
