For the first time since 2015, the Augustana women's lacrosse raced out to a quick 2-0 start to begin the season, picking up a 14-10 road win over Illinois Tech before winning a high-scoring affair against Augsburg in their home opener. Five different Vikings scored in the team's season-opening win against Illinois Tech, led by four from four-year letterwinner Cassidy Petrie. In the team's victory over Augsburg, the team saw just four players tally goals, led by first-year student-athlete Elena Bechard, who etched her name in the Augie record book with nine goals. The nine scores places her third all-time for most in a single game and was the highest scoring output since Hilary Kargl scored 10 against Puget Sound in April of 2012.

A pair of close losses followed to bring the Vikings' record to .500, but the team bounced back with a dominating 18-1 win over Monmouth to notch their third win of the season. Another first-year player, Madison Langewisch, stole the show in the win, scoring a season-best at the time five goals to help lead Augie to the victory. Langewisch later notched six goals in the team's victory over Franklin, which currently sits as her career best early in her time at Augustana. 

The Vikings improved to 5-3 on the season after winning back-to-back road games in the eastern time zone. First, Augustana cruised to an 18-2 victory over Spalding in which they tied a program record for shots with 54. The team also picked up 37 ground balls in the win, good for seventh-most in program history for a single game. Augie followed up the record-setting win with their highest point total of the year, doubling up Franklin by a score of 20-10 to remain undefeated on the road. The Vikings secured eight first-quarter goals and saw 13 combined scores from Bechard and Langewisch on their way to the scoring outburst. Bechard also earned her second CCIW weekly award following the 2-0 week.

Augustana finished their non-conference slate with five wins, the third time in the last four seasons they reached that number. 

Conference play proved to be a bumpy road to close the season as the team dealt with injuries and was shorthanded down the stretch. Augie dropped four straight to begin the CCIW slate, but responded with a 13-6 road win over Elmhurst to round out the season. The victory was the eighth straight over the Bluejays as they held them to just six goals, the third-fewest allowed by the Vikings all season. Petrie capped off her career with a team-high four goals on eight shots.

The Vikings finished their 2023 campaign with six wins, the highest since 2019. Goalkeeper Rachel Forman cemented herself in various areas of the Augie record book, including fifth all-time in saves, sixth in save percentage, and fifth in wins. On offense, Petrie concludes her tenure with the Vikings first in woman-up goals with 14 and eighth all-time in goals per game. She is followed close behind by teammate Claire Kim, who ends her career with six woman-up goals, good for fourth all-time.
