ROCK ISLAND – The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team dropped their conference opener to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, falling to the Titans 22-5.

Augie endured six striaght scores from Illinois Wesleyan in the opening period prior to Madison Langewisch nabbing the Vikings' first goal as time expired. The Titans added three more scores to start the second quarter before Cassidy Petrie's successful free position strike at 10:54 made the score 9-2. Following two more Illinois Wesleyan goals, Langewisch tacked on Augustana's final goal of the half at 5:22. The Titans sent in a late score to take a 12-3 lead into the intermission.

Illinois Wesleyan poured on six points out of the break to go up 18-3. Augie halted the scoring spree with back-to-back strikes from Narita Lambert and Langewisch to end the third at an 18-5 score. The Titans added four more scores in the final frame to secure the road contest by a final of 22-5.
