BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team will remain away from home on Saturday, April 8 when they visit the Illinois Wesleyan Titans for a conference matchup.
Augustana currently sits 5-5 on the season and 0-1 in the CCIW Following an 18-4 loss at Elmhurst on Wednesday. The Bluejays erupted for eight goals in the opening period and seven in the second on their way to a 15-2 halftime lead. The two teams played to a much lower-scoring second half, resulting in the 14-point win for Elmhurst.
Jack Connolly led Augustana with two goals, while
Jake Moore and
Brady Holtz each nabbed one.
Illinois Wesleyan enters Saturday sporting a 7-3 overall record and 1-0 mark in conference. The Titans recently defeated Carroll by a score of 19-3 to secure their fourth straight win overall. Illinois Wesleyan has also won three straight games at home after dropping their first two of the season in Bloomington. Saturday will mark their first game in their home stadium since March 21, a 20-14 win over Hope.
Augustana is 2-9 all-time vs. Illinois Wesleyan and is looking to snap a nine-game losing skid to the Titans. Illinois Wesleyan won last season's meeting in Rock Island by a score of 20-7.
