ROCK ISLAND –  The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team remains home for a conference battle against the North Central Cardinals for Senior Day on Saturday, April 22.

Augie holds a 5-6 record, 0-3 in conference, with their most recent action resulting in a 23-0 defeat to No. 16 ranked Chicago on Wednesday, April 19. The Maroons got off to a fast start, netting their first of nine goals in the opening quarter at 14:15 before tacking on five more scores in the second to extend their lead to 14-0 at the break. The Maroons continued to distance themselves, netting four in the third period and five in the fourth to put the game at its 23-0 final. Madison Langewisch recorded all three shots for the Vikings in the game, two on goal. Rachel Forman secured 16 saves in goal.

North Central possesses a 4-10 record, 1-2 in conference, and is coming off a 17-0 road win over Elmhurst on Wednesday. The conference battle lasted just three quarters due to thunderstorms, but the scoring was all North Central. The Cardinals jumped to a 7-0 lead through the opening quarter, with the first strike sent in just 46 seconds in the contest. After scoring five points in the second period, North Central won the shortened game by netting five more points in the third to win by 17. Abby MacKenzie led the Cardinals' scoring effort with five goals.

Augustana holds a 9-5 lead over North Central in the all-time series, with the most recent meeting between the two squads resulting in a 15-4 road defeat for the Vikings on April 13, 2022. Claire Kim sent in a score to halt a 3-0 run from the Cardinals early in the first, but North Central recaptured their momentum with eight consecutive goals to build a 10-point cushion. Cassidy Petrie's strike near the end of the second quarter and another to open the half made the score 12-3, but the Cardinals' 3-1 run to close the half helped them secure the conference victory. Petrie led the offensive attack for the Vikings with two goals.

The action begins at 1:00 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field. Stream link for the CCIW battle can be found here.
