ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team will remain at home on Wednesday, April 19 when they host the Carthage Firebirds for a conference battle.
Augustana currently sits at 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the CCIW. The team is coming off of a Senior Day win over Carroll, defeating the Pioneers by a score of 12-3. Augie notched three goals in each of the four quarters, holding Carroll to one or fewer each period. The Vikings out-shot the Pioneers 64-29 in the win and had four different players earn multi-goal performances. Both

Carson Ghys secured double-digit shot attempts, while seniorÂ
Erik Singdahlsen grabbed the victory in net, stopping five shots in the first half.Â
Paul Huber added a team-best eight ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Carthage enters Wednesday with a 9-3 overall record and 1-1 mark in the CCIW. The Firebirds have won three of their last four outings, most recently defeating MSOE by a score of 21-12. Carthage boasts the top offense in the CCIW to date, averaging over 17 goals per outing.Â
The Vikings are 2-11 all-time against the Firebirds and are looking to snap a six-game skid in the series. Carthage won last season's meeting in Kenosha by a final score of 15-10. Holtz led the offensive effort with three goals.Â
