ROCK ISLAND – The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team returns to the Roy J. Carver Center to face the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday for Senior Day.

Augie is 10-10 overall, 1-6 in conference, and is coming off a defeat to the No. 7 ranked North Central Cardinals in Naperville, Ill. on Sunday. Augie hung around early in the opening set, keeping the deficit within two points through a 7-5 score. North Central later pulled away with an 11-2 surge to grab a double-figure lead at 21-9, building to a first-set victory. In the second game, North Central crept ahead by a 7-6 score before doubling up Augie across the following nine services to cushion their advantage out to four. A 10-2 North Central outburst midway through the set put the Cardinals ahead by 11, later snuffing out a Vikings' comeback attempt to take a two-set lead. Augustana saw an early lead in the third but endured a 7-2 North Central spurt to flip a two-point deficit into a three-point advantage. The Vikings cut the lead to two following the run but could not fully close the gap as the Cardinals closed out the series 3-0.

Aidan Bolen led the Augustana attack with eight kills, hitting at a .250 clip. Max Sellers was the team leader in digs with 12, while Matthew Degnan paced the Vikings in assists with 17.

Illinois Wesleyan enters Saturday's contest with a 10-13 record, 1-7 in conference play, with their most recent action resulting in a 3-0 win over North Park by set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-20. The Titans hit at a .221 clip on their attack efforts and held the advantage in total digs by a 49-40 margin. Michael Eastman led the team in total kills with 11.

Augustana holds a 4-1 lead over Illinois Wesleyan in the all-time series, claiming the win in their battle against the Titans earlier this season in consecutive sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-20. The Vikings hit at a .382 clip on their attack efforts, as Ben Schultz led the team in kills with 14, followed by Zach Moreano and Sean Carlson with nine apiece. Aiden Bond was the team leader with seven digs, while Matthew Degnan paced Augie with 37 assists.
