ROCK ISLAND – The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team remains home for a bout against the Concordia-Chicago Cougars on Saturday, March 18. 

Augustana possesses a 2-1 record, most recently suffering a 13-10 defeat to the Cornell Rams on March 8. In a high-scoring first half, the two teams combined for 14 points, with the Rams leading 9-5 at the intermission. With 12 minutes remaining, the Vikings attempted a late comeback, cutting the Rams' advantage to one point, but could not find an equalizer as Cornell scored two late goals.
Elena Bechard led the Vikings in scoring for the second game in a row with four goals, closely followed by Madison Langewisch with three. Augie forced 18 Cornell turnovers, with Bechard and Cassidy Petrie leading the way with three each.

Concordia-Chicago enters Saturday's game with a 0-2 record, dropping in their home opener before losing 17-7 to Franklin on Wednesday, March 8. The Cougars took an early 1-0 lead, but the rest of the half was all Grizzlies, with the home squad outscoring Concordia 9-2. The Cougars scored back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter but could not overcome the deficit as they lost by double figures. Jessica Parker and Kelli Pietrowski scored three goals apiece, to lead the Cougars' attack efforts. Augustana currently trails Concordia-Chicago 1-0 in the all-time series, losing their lone matchup 13-3 on March 19, 2022.
