ROCK ISLAND -- Daniel Carr of Augustana Vikings men's basketball has been named to the D3Hoops.com All-Region Team for the second time in his career, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, and schools and conferences were each contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. There were 798 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. 

It's the 22nd season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams. Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. This reorganization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to previous full seasons.

Players from these lists are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams. The men's team will be released March 18, at the national championship game, and the women's team will be released at a predetermined time between the national semifinals on March 18 and the title game on April 1.

Carr was named Third Team on Region 8 after averaging a double-double in 2022-23. He finished up the 2022-23 season ranked ninth in the CCIW in scoring, first in rebounding, sixth in blocks, and top 20 in field goal percentage. He also ranked top 40 in the nation in double doubles, finishing his senior campaign with 11. He scored in double figures in all but eight games this season.
