Men's basketball hosts North Park for Senior Night

The Vikings will recognize Matt Hanushewsky and Daniel Carr

ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team will return home for their final game of the 2022-23 season on Saturday, February 18 when they host the North Park Vikings for Senior Night. 

Augie enters Saturday with a 7-17 record and 5-10 mark in the CCIW following a 94-76 road loss to Elmhurst on Wednesday. The Vikings stayed within striking distance in the first half, scoring the final basket of the frame to cut the deficit to seven at the break. The Augie defense held Elmhurst to just two made field goals in the five minutes to help keep the margin under double figures. The Vikings got within five early on in the second half, but the Bluejays responded to cushion their advantage to double figures for the first time. The lead never dipped below 10 as the home team defeated the Vikings at home by of 94-76.

Daniel Carr led Augie with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Knuth and Colton Gillingham also cracked double figures, notching 14 and 12 points.

North Park comes in sporting a 19-5 overall record and 12-3 mark in conference. The Vikings are currently riding a three-game winning streak, having defeated Illinois Wesleyan at home by a score of 63-57 in their most recent outing. North Park is 11-2 on the road this season, having lost just once in league play to nationally-ranked Wheaton. The team boasts four double-digit scorers this season, led by Kolden Vanlandingham's 16.9 points per game status.

Augustana leads the all-time series between the two 86-42, having won 10 of the last 12 encounters. North Park defeated Augie in Chicago earlier this season by a score of 70-59. Daniel Carr led Augustana with 25 points and 17 rebounds.

Start time is scheduled for 7:15 p.m from inside the Carver Center. Seniors Carr and Matt Hanushewsky will be recognized prior to tip-off.
