WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team will stay on the road for its next contest on Tuesday, November 21 when they take on the No. 2 ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks.

Augie currently sits 1-3 on the season and is coming off a pair of close losses in Minnesota over the weekend, dropping games to Crown by three points and North Central (Minn.) by seven. Against the Polars of Crown, Augie fought back from an early hole, slowly chipping away at the deficit and eventually taking its first lead on a Colton Gillingham jumper three minutes into the second half. The two teams continued to battle back and forth, with neither holding a lead of more than two possessions the rest of the way. Crown claimed the lead back shortly after and pushed the margin out to five with 8:33 remaining, the largest differential by any team in the second half. The Vikings never went away, pulling within a single point three separate times before a late Polar basket with under a minute remaining all but sealed the game.

Against North Central, the Vikings had a big first half, scoring 48 points on 58 percent shooting and 60 percent from behind the three-point line. The Rams flipped the script in the second half, out-scoring Augustana 33-14 through the final 20 minutes of play. Three players had double figures in the loss for Augie, led by Matt Hawkins' 13 points.

UW-Whitewater enters Tuesday with a perfect 3-0 record, recently defeating CCIW opponent Carroll at home by a score of 86-77. Tuesday with be the final game of four straight at home for the Warhawks to begin the 2023-24 season. The team defeated Gustavus Adolphus and St. Mary's (Minn.) both by double-digits before its nine-point victory over the Pioneers. The Warhawks held a six-point lead at halftime and used a 47-44 second half to maintain its distance from Carroll. Only six players scored in the game for Whitewater, with four cracking double figures and two with over 20 points.

The Warhawks lead the all-time series over the Vikings 6-5. Whitewater won last season's meeting in Rock Island by a score of 95-90.
