BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 4 when they visit the Illinois Wesleyan Titans for a CCIW clash.

Augustana currently sits 0-7-2 on the season and is coming off of a 4-0 defeat to Carthage on Saturday. Carthage got on the board four minutes into the contest, but the Vikings' defense held their own the rest of the half, fending off 11 total shots in the opening 45 minutes. Frankie Baio notched three saves in the first half of action to keep the Vikings within one heading into intermission.

The Firebirds added onto their lead four minutes out of the halftime break, pushing across one more score six minutes later to make it 3-0. The visitors added one final tally in the closing minutes to complete the 4-0 final.

Baio saved seven shots in net, while Rayane Haidi accounted for all three shot attempts for Augie.

Illinois Wesleyan enters Wednesday sporting a 2-4-2 overall record and 0-1-1 mark in conference. The Titans recently saw their two-game unbeaten streak come to an end in a 1-0 loss at Wheaton. The team previously earned ties in their two outings prior and is looking to get in the win column for the first time since September 6.

The Vikings are 18-15-3 all-time against the Titans, but have dropped the last three games and eight of the last nine. Illinois Wesleyan won last season's encounter in Rock Island thanks to a last minute goal that propelled them to a 3-2 victory.

Start time on Wednesday is scheduled for 7 p.m. Live coverage can be found here.
