GRINNELL, Iowa – The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team will hit the road for a non-conference contest against the Grinnell Pioneers on Saturday, October 14.

Augustana's current record sits at 0-10-2 on the season and is returning from a mid-week loss against the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday a score of 5-1. The Bluejays scored early with two goals within the first 10 minutes of the match, leaving the score at 2-0 after 45 minutes of action.

Quickly in the second half, the Vikings scored to bring to the deficit to one on to a pass from Jarrett Baumgartner to Ben Statz. After returning to the field due to a weather delay, the Bluejays increased their score by three in the final 18 minutes of the game to bring it to its 5-1 end result.

Grinnell sits with an overall record of 4-4-4 and a conference record of 1-2-1. The Pioneers came out with a win in their most recent matchup on their home field against Illinois College, squeaking out a 1-0 win to move their record to 3-1-2.

The Vikings maintain a 9-4-2 all-time record against the Pioneers and won the last meeting in 2013 with a final score of 3-0 in Rock Island.
