DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Augustana men's volleyball team traveled to Dubuque on Saturday for their second tri-match of the season, securing a pair of 3-1 wins over the Clarke Pride and the Roosevelt Lakers.

Augie faced the host team Clarke in their opening match of the day.  The first set was tightly contested until the Vikings broke a 16-16 tie with a six-point scoring surge highlighted by three aces from Aidan Bolen, eventually resulting in a 25-17 win. Augie lost their second set before claiming the final two games. The Vikings and Pride remained deadlocked in the third set until Augie closed the door with an 11-8 scoring run. The final set was the tightest of the contest, with the Vikings scoring six of the final eight points to close the match by a score of 25-23.

Augie had two players break double-digit kill totals, with Bolen and Zach Moreano earning 11 and 10. Matthew Degnan notched a match-high 40 assists with his passing efforts. Eight Vikings recorded at least one defensive dig in the match.

The Vikings met Roosevelt in their second contest on Saturday, marking the first-ever matchup between the two programs. Augie opened the match with back-to-back set victories, highlighted by an 8-2 surge to conclude the first set. The third set saw the Vikings suffer a 25-18 defeat before rebounding in the fourth frame with a tightly-contested 25-22 victory. Augie led 22-19 near the end of the final set before exchanging back-and-forth service wins to secure their second win of the day.
