ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team will return home to kick off three straight at the Carver Center when they host the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday, January 28.

Augie enters the weekend with a 6-13 record and 4-6 mark in a jam-packed CCIW race. The team is coming off a thrilling come-from-behind 75-74 road victory over the North Central Cardinals on Wednesday, seeing late-game heroics from Matt Hanushewsky to help steal the win. Trailing by as many as 14 in the first half, the Vikings slowly chipped away until going in front with 13 minutes remaining for the first time since leading 4-2. The teams battled back-and-forth until a late three-point play from Hanushewsky put the Vikings in front 74-73 with under 30 seconds left. The Cardinals evened the score with a free throw, but the senior guard drove into the lane to draw a foul, knocking down a free throw with 0.8 seconds showing on the clock. A last-second heave down the court was knocked away to seal the win for Augie. Hanushewsky had a season-best in both points in assists, finishing with 14 and 7. Tyler Knuth had 15 points to lead the Vikings, while Daniel Carr also added 14.

Illinois Wesleyan currently sits 10-8 overall and 5-4 in league play. The Titans picked up two wins in a rescheduled trip out west, defeating Linfield and George Fox in their most recent outing. In the last CCIW matchup, the team was downed at Wheaton by a point as the Thunder hit two free throws after getting fouled on a last-second three-point attempt. Illinois Wesleyan has dropped two straight in conference play, falling to North Park and Wheaton by a combined five points. The Titans are led by Cody Mitchell's 13.9 points per game this season, one of four members who are currently averaging double figures.

The Titans lead the all-time series over the Vikings, 99-78 and have won four straight over Augustana, including this year's 65-50 victory in Bloomington.

Start time on Saturday is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. from inside the Carver Center.
