ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will host the Benedictine Eagles on Wednesday, September 7 in their first home game of the 2022 season.
Augie enters Wednesday sporting a 1-1 record after splitting a pair of road contests to begin the year. The Vikings defeated the Central College Dutch last Thursday thanks to scores from both
Kayla Garcia and
Molly Fank to propel them to a 2-1 victory. On Saturday, the Vikings fell to the Greenville Panthers by a score of 1-0.
Benedictine comes in with an 0-2 record following losses to a pair of fellow CCIW opponents. The Eagles were blanked by North Park in their season opener 2-0 and were then defeated by North Central 7-0 in their most recent outing. Benedictine closed out their 2021 campaign with a 6-14 record.
Augustana is 4-0 all-time against Benedictine, winning last year's matchup in Lisle, Ill. by a score of 2-1. Both of the Vikings' goals came in the second half, with the Eagles getting theirs in the final minute to make it a 2-1 victory for Augie.Â
