NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Augustana Vikings quarterback Cole Bhardwaj has been selected the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week for offense after non-conference competition in the opening week of the season.
 
Bhardwaj, a junior from Algonquin, Ill., completed 18 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings' season-opening 34-28 victory over Rhodes in Rock Island. Bhardwaj, who did not throw an interception in the win, completed a 54-yard touchdown throw to Bobby Inserra just 76 seconds into the contest, setting the tone in the Vikings' victory. His pair of touchdown throws in the second quarter helped Augie race out to a 31-7 halftime lead. Augustana held on to win 34-28.
