KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will dive back into conference play on Saturday, October 1 as they hit the road to take on the Carthage Firebirds.

Augie comes in with a 5-3-2 record overall after cruising to a 7-1 road win over the Illinois College Lady Blue on Tuesday. Liesl Whitener secured a hat trick on the afternoon to lead the Vikings, tallying two of those in the first half on their way to a 4-0 lead at the break. Augie sent in three more goals to make it a 7-0 advantage early in the second half before the Lady Blue grabbed their lone score later on. Augustana out-shot Illinois College 30-10 in the game.

Carthage enters the weekend with a 0-4-4 overall record and a 0-1 mark in the CCIW. After earning a draw in four of their first five games of the season, the Firebirds are currently riding a three-game losing streak. Carthage was defeated by Illinois Wesleyan by a score of 4-0 in their most recent outing last Saturday. Earlier this season, Carthage tied Greenville 3-3, who Augie lost to by a goal.

Augustana is 18-8-2 all-time against the Firebirds. The Vikings won last year's meeting in Kenosha by a score of 1-0 thanks to a second-half score from Kayla Garcia. Augie has won three straight over Carthage, with the last two coming on the road.
