ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana men's soccer team will return home to Thorson-Lucken Field for their next contest on Saturday, September 24 when they host the undefeated and No. 5 ranked North Park Vikings.
Augie was defeated by the UW-Platteville Pioneers on Tuesday to drop to 0-5-1 on the season. The Pioneers pulled away in the second half, sending six shots through the back of the net on their way to an 8-0 victory over the Vikings. Augie struggled on the night, tallying just two total shots on goal, both via freshman Tom Van Zilj. The Vikings will look to put together a cleaner outing this Saturday as they amassed 15 fouls and two cards against the Pioneers.
North Park enters the matchup undefeated on the year, posting a 7-0-0 overall record. Augustana will be their first test of the season in CCIW play.
Augustana leads the all-time series over North Park 24-17-2, but has dropped seven of the last eight dating back to 2013. North Park defeated Augustana 7-1 a season ago in Rock Island. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field. Live video and stat links can be found
