Box Score PLATTEVILLE, WIS. -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team was defeated on Tuesday night, falling to the UW-Platteville Pioneers by a score of 8-0 at Ralph E. Davis Stadium.

The Pioneers scored two goals near the end of first half of play and pulled away in the second half, sending six more goals into the back of the Vikings net. Augie was out-shot 33-2 in the contest. The Vikings were in foul trouble throughout the night, outpacing the Pioneers 15-5 in the category. 

The Pioneers significantly upped the pressure in the second half, keeping the Vikings on the back foot for the rest of the game. Tom Van Zijl had Augie's lone two shot attempts of the match after receiving a yellow card early in the second half.

With the loss, Augustana drops to 0-5-1 overall. The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 24 when they take on No. 5 ranked North Park. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field.
