WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will close out the 2022 season on Saturday, April 30 when they visit the Carroll Pioneers in a CCIW clash.

The Vikings were victorious in their last outing, a 20-12 win over the Elmhurst Bleujays on Wednesday. Augie scored a season-best 20 goals in the victory, seeing two five-score performances from both Kate Hettiger and Margaret Cecilio. Augie led just 2-1 after the first 15 minutes of action, but tallied seven goals and a plus-five margin in the second quarter to stretch their to six at the break. The Vikings continued to win the final two quarters, posting five goals in the third and six in the fourth en route to their eight-point win. Augie currently sits 5-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Carroll enters the weekend with an 8-6 overall record and sit 3-2 in the CCIW. The Pioneers were narrowly defeated in their last outing, a 9-8 loss on the road at Carthage. Carroll has lost three of their last four contests.

The two teams have split their six meetings all-time, each winning three apiece. Carroll has won the last three encounters after Augustana took the first three. The Pioneers defeated the Vikings 17-3 last season in Rock Island.
